All-Canadian 5-Star Security Rating System
Notes
Use our ALL CANADIAN 5 Star Security Rating System (S.R.S.) to determine the security level and particular strengths of your current security system or apply the rating information to determine the security value (and strengths) of a proposed system (before is installed).
Security Purpose
The purpose is being secure and safe, the focus is the elimination of the threat, the strategy is “Prevention First”. Recognize it is “the criminal” who chooses you; it is your need to instantly dissuade their attempt with immediate (and dependable) notification. Whether protecting a family home or a large outdoor commercial construction site this most basic requirement applies.
Where Do I Start?
Two questions that define Your Security Requirements and Expectations should be answered before you start calling security companies for quotations.
Question 1: Do I want an intruder inside my premises or kept on the outside?
Question 2: Do I want an intruder identified & apprehended w/o personal involvement?
Rating Composition
There are six (6) specific areas involved in determining a security system rating, its’ particular strengths and its’ likelihood of serving your expectations. Understanding your systems strengths and weaknesses are as important as any particular attribute built into your system. Defining security areas are:
- Prevention Focus
- Notification Capabilities
- Alarm Dependability
- Security Consistency
- Apprehension Alertness/Assistance
- Design
Quality of product (ULC standards), professional installation, training and servicing client needs are ‘assumed’; they are not addressed within this rating initiative.
